BACR is overseen by a Board of Directors and managed by a professional staff. The organization is led by an Executive Director, Associate Executive Director and a program-based team of Project Directors. BACR has approximately 238 (167 FTE) staff members as well as 120 full time AmeriCorps and VISTA Members and 80 part time AmeriCorps members. More information on our staff can be found below. Martin Weinstein is the Executive Director of Bay Area Community Resources. Martin has been a leader within the organization and the community for over 20 years and has led the development of BACR into a dynamic and highly diversified non-profit agency. Mr. Weinstein's professional history combines a solid theoretical background in business and a successful application in the social service arena. He holds an undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania, and earned his MBA from New York University. He served as Vice President for the Urban Research Corporation under the leadership of John Naisbitt, author of Megatrends. Subsequently, he served as Vice President for Pacific Consultants and was principal investigator on a number of national studies. Mary Jo Williams
Mary Jo Williams has been Associate Executive Director for Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) since its merger (1994) with the Alcoholism Council of Marin where she was formerly the Executive Director. Ms. Williams has nearly 20 years' experience successfully developing and managing mental health, alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse prevention and treatment projects providing services to over 5,000 persons annually. She is also active in the community, working with schools, local city and county government and community-based organizations. Prior to BACR, Ms Williams was Executive Director of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drugs, Nebraska affiliate in Lincoln.
