Alcohol & Drug
BACR delivers prevention and treatment services to youth, families and adults having a broad spectrum of needs, ranging from the need for basic information to treatment for chronic alcoholism and drug recovery. Services are provided in a number of settings: schools, jails, community medical clinics, freestanding recovery centers, and county public assistance offices. We deliver services in Contra Costa, Marin, and Napa counties.
We provide individual and group alcohol and drug services, as well as consultation with stakeholders and collaborators. Program models and practices include evidence-based treatment models such as the MATRIX model. Staff are licensed and certified to provide assessment and treatment services approved by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. We employ Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing throughout our programs.
Our environmental prevention services aim to change community norms about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. We engage youth and adults to advocate for public and private policies that reduce access and counter alcohol advertising and marketing aimed at youth.
Program Impacts
Our programs are designed to improve public safety, decrease substance abuse, reduce recidivism, improve family functioning and school performance, and involve youth in pro-social activities.
