The Project RIDE seeks to directly counter tobacco usage among youth, young adults and Asian Americans through an intervention employing the enormous popularity of the import scene. Priority issues are (1) secondhand smoke exposure, (2) sponsorship by tobacco industry, (3) cessation, and (4) prevention among youth.
Project RIDE brings together local youth and car enthusiasts, throughout the Bay Area and California, to protect both their communities and the car-import culture from tobacco industry infiltration. The Project RIDE promotes young Asian Americans as advocates and leaders by transforming their participation in the car scene as a powerful way to make meaningful and proactive changes in their communities.
