The BACR Marin After School Programs operates in six elementary and one middle school in partnership with San Rafael City Schools. Our extended learning programs are in session right after the school bell rings and are open until 6:00 pm every day. Our enrollment, for the most part, is base on academic and family needs. We work closely with the School Principals and teachers to create enrollment criteria that fit the unique needs of each school. A day in after-school consist of homework help, academic skill practice, physical activity, and enrichment.
We are looking for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in their community. We need reading tutors that can support students who read at least two grades below grade level. Volunteers that can help students who need a little extra practice with math and volunteer mentors with a caring heart whiling to practice the English language skills, play a board game or lead an interesting activity that will expand our students' horizons.
Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a volunteer at A Home Away From Homelessness! Poverty and homelessness are crises that affect all of us, and volunteering is one way to directly contribute to a better community.
